Training program development includes guidelines for implementation, devising a means for ongoing review, revision of policies, standards, documentation and processes to insure that training programs meet standards of excellence and consistency in terms of instructional design integrity. A short list of tasks follow
Primary Duties of Instructional Design
Create curriculum plans and develop training course materials (Instructor Guide, Participant Guide, etc.) to support each training plan. Edit or create new documents including:
Ensure that instructors are kept up-to-date on modifications to training (when required). Solicit feedback from instructors on the improvement of instructional and performance support content. Contribute to the refinement and improvement of standards, methodology, and documentation of instructional design and development.
Determine courseware deficiencies related program standards and devise plans to correct any deficiencies.
Conduct usability studies and needs assessments to determine and to understand support for ongoing development and improvement of training programs.
Provide for a means to receive ongoing comments, including program design and instructional specifications.
Collaborate and consult with partnership programs and marketing to create prototypes of new or proposed instructional strategies and features within and across all programs.
Design and deliver presentations and demonstrations to partners, internal and external clients.
Contribute to leadership role in the organization and to the instructional design community through on-going education, written and oral presentations and publication of reports, and perhaps with white papers and popular press articles. Act as internal expert consultant to partnership staff.
